R&J Harnesses Limited

Background

R&J Harnesses Limited is based in Shotton, Deeside in North Wales. Specialising in the manufacture of cable leads used in commercial lighting systems and control units, the business began its life more than 20 years ago and now supplies in the region of 20,000 leads per month to its clients.

A number of years following its inception, R&J Harnesses Limited witnessed a period of rapid growth and expansion which, in turn, signified a need for a larger accountancy firm to manage the business’ accounts. After meeting with a shortlist of three firms, Ray Roberts, Director of R&J Harnesses, felt that Haswells’ offered the best package of services and expertise. Today, R&J Harnesses use Haswells for the full range of services – from Annual Accounts, Corporation Tax, VAT, Payroll, Bookkeeping and Personal Tax - to the handling of a Company Share Purchase when one of the directors retired.
"Without a shadow of a doubt, Haswells were the right choice for us. They have been absolutely outstanding. How well they have dealt with our queries and how they present all tax returns to us is exemplary. They have provided me with Personal Tax advice together with delivering the full range of services for the business,"   commented Ray. "As I have been using Haswells for more than 20 years, it has been impossible not to form personal relationships with Rachel, Paul and the team but it has always remained professional and our excellent relationship has meant that I have found it easy to ask, and answer, important questions in order to gain the best advice,"   Ray continued.
With a workforce of seven, many of whom have worked for R&J Harnesses for more than 10 years apiece, the last couple of years have been tough on the business and they have had to work exceptionally hard to keep their customers supplied. Now, beginning to bounce back from economic uncertainty, Ray is pleased his customers have been understanding as the situation begins to improve.
"It has been tough since the pandemic hit but we pride ourselves on retaining an excellent, hard working team and we have all pulled together to keep R&J Harnesses as industrious as possible,"   commented Ray.
It is this commitment to the company’s valuable clients that resonates with their synergy with Haswells, who began life more than a century ago and who still put their clients’ needs first.
"Working alongside Ray for such a long time, we have been included in the goals of the business and its objectives. In turn, we are well placed to provide expert advice and strategic planning to help R&J Harnesses reach these targets,"   said Rachel.
When Rachel first began working with R&J Harnesses Limited, she was just beginning her accountancy career. After years of hard work and many, many exams later, Rachel has recently been awarded Chartered Accountant status and no-one is more pleased for her than Ray.
"Rachel has always delivered an excellent service, no matter what stage she was at in her career. It has always been, and will continue to be, an absolute pleasure to work with her and the rest of the team at Haswells and I am delighted that Rachel has achieved her dream. Well done Rachel!"   congratulated Ray. "Whatever the size of business, or if anyone needs Personal Tax advice, I could not recommend Rachel and the team more highly,"   Ray concluded.
