Pembroke Wealth Management Limited is a financial advisory business which sits under the Corbel Partners umbrella - one of the UK’s 20 top companies (listed on FTAdviser's top 20 financial advice firms).

Run by Steve Cryer, Pembroke Wealth Management Limited has been in business since just before the global pandemic hit in March 2020. As Steve received no government backing and, classed as a ‘keyworker’, Steve continued to meet clients face to face in all manner of lockdown circumstances. From conducting meetings through patio windows and letterboxes to sitting on cast iron garden chairs under an umbrella in the depths of winter! So, to find an accountancy firm who could at least relieve some of his work-related stress, was a bonus to Steve.
“Having worked in the finance industry for more than 15 years, I used to be based literally across the room to Haswells. I had seen the team in action and knew when I set up my own business that I wouldn’t use anyone else. When Pembroke Wealth Management Limited was formed, Rachel Coles and the Haswells team handled my company formation paperwork and made the whole process very easy!”   commented Steve.

Now using Haswells for a whole range of services which include Annual Accounts, Corporation Tax, Payroll and Personal Tax, Steve has found that nothing is too much of an issue for the team.
“Working with a thoroughly nice, honest and trustworthy group of people is of great importance to me and they certainly tick all the boxes. They are down to earth and we can have a laugh together, yet I know they always have my business’ interests at heart,” commented Steve. “I also know that they are simply getting on with the job of looking after the accounts, leaving me, in turn, to manage my own clients more efficiently. Good systems are all in place and I don’t have to try and juggle payroll, for example, as the payroll team are always three steps ahead of me and wage slips arrive before I even remember they are due!”
The Payroll service provided by Haswells relieves the time calculating pay and distributing salary payments to bank accounts. They also track and record the tax that has been paid on behalf of the employees – and employer too – and, each year, evaluates salaries too. Payroll is central to the running of a business – and it needs to be precise. Not only do Haswells produce the Payroll function, they also liaise with HMRC on a business’ behalf and manage any queries and compliance visits. As there is a significant emphasis on a taxpayer’s individual responsibility to ensure their accounts are completed properly, every business owner really does need professional advice. Haswells can advise on the full range of personal tax such as Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and Trust and Estate Tax. As Steve’s personal tax is handled by Haswells, his self assessment tax returns and tax liability are all calculated and completed on his behalf – and filed with HMRC too.
